Appointments
What should I expect at my pet's appointment?
We begin with a thorough history and physical examination, then discuss our findings and recommendations with you.
Depending on your pet’s needs, this may include preventive care, diagnostic testing, treatment, medication, nutritional recommendations, or additional monitoring.
Our goal is to make sure you understand what we find, why we recommend a particular approach, and what to expect next.
How do I schedule an appointment?
You can contact our team by phone.
Call or text: 509-588-6970
You can also use the PetDesk app to request appointments, receive reminders, access your pet’s health information, and communicate with our team.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
If your pet has been seen by another veterinary practice, our team will typically contact your previous veterinarian to request their medical records. We ask that records be received at least one week before your appointment whenever possible so that we have time to review your pet’s medical history before your visit.
You do not need to bring copies of your pet’s records with you. If your pet is taking medications, supplements, or preventives, please bring a current list of those products, including the name and dosage, along with any information about your pet’s current diet.
Do you require a deposit or booking fee?
A booking fee may be required to reserve certain appointments.
New-client appointments require a booking fee equal to the office visit fee, which is applied toward the visit.
Dental, surgical, and admit procedures also require a booking fee which is also applied toward the visit.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for appointment changes or cancellations.
Dental, surgical, and admit procedures require 48 hours’ notice.
Late cancellations and missed appointments may result in forfeiture of the applicable booking fee or a no-show fee.
What if I'm running late?
If you are more than 10 minutes late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled. This helps us respect the appointment times of other clients and keep patient care running smoothly.

Do you accept pet insurance?
Yes. We accept all types of pet insurance.
We do not bill pet insurance companies directly. Pet insurance generally works by having the pet owner pay the veterinary hospital and then submit the invoice to their insurance company for reimbursement, depending on the individual policy.
We recommend obtaining pet insurance before a medical condition develops, since pre-existing conditions may not be covered.
What Makes Sunrise Different?
Why choose an independent veterinary practice?
At Sunrise Veterinary Clinic, we believe veterinary care is strongest when your veterinarian knows your pet—not just their medical record.
Our independent practice model allows us to focus on continuity, individualized recommendations, clear communication, and long-term relationships with our clients and patients.
What makes Sunrise Veterinary Clinic different from a larger veterinary hospital?
We combine a personal, relationship-based approach with modern veterinary medicine and advanced diagnostic capabilities.
Our goal is to give you the benefit of knowing your veterinary team while still having access to tools such as digital radiography, ultrasound, dental radiography, and laboratory diagnostics.
What is most important to the Sunrise team?
We believe every pet deserves thoughtful, individualized care.
We strive to listen carefully, pay attention to the details, communicate honestly, use current veterinary medicine, and work with each family to develop a plan that makes sense for their pet.
